Dinard Ladies Open (LETAS)

My golf is getting better after a difficult summer season. In Dinard (French Britany), I made the cut and played a sturdy last round, posting my best score (68). This puts me in good conditions before entering the Open de France that takes place next week.

Back on the Tour

Ready to leave for 10 weeks on the road! I was missing the Tour so much... London-Vienna-Praha-Marbella-Dinard-Paris-Sicilia-Paris-Honk Hong-Beijing... Lets the fun and some good golf happen...

Message from my Coach(es)

Message from Michel Vanmeerbeek & Jérôme Theunis - August 20

"We really see progress how Bénédicte is swinging the club now. She comes more and more from the inside and the club tends to gain in speed with less upper body mouvement. It's quite a change regarding her first months on the LET Tour. She accepted also to move her putter to a square situation instead of the old closed one and the action through the ball is now much more in direction of the hole. We are very optimistic but we have to wait that Béné regains her confidence to fully apply these new techniques in tournament. She turned her back to her poor amateur technique, she accepted the changes and need now time and tournament to make  the progress she wanted. It's now a question of time. She will succeed!

Mid-season report

Hey everybody...

I enjoy my time off in Belgium even if I can't wait to go back and play out there... I became really quickly an addict of the tour life. This year is a great learning process for me and I am trying to make the most of it!

Major changes in the bag since the beginning of the year. First of all I changed all the shafts in my irons, realized that the first set was not suiting me at all since I physically became stronger. The club fitter of the Tour, Gene Fulton, made me this great driver Taylor Made with a Fujikura shaft in it and I start to love it.

And finally, Jérome Theunis made some great changes in my putting and we decided to change putter as well. The results in my putting were immediately seen after the Irish Open. My confidence is coming back and with the help of Michel and Jérome I am getting ready for the two next months of the season.

I am going to have a heavy schedule since I will be playing almost 10 tournaments of the European Tour and LET Access in a row.

I feel like I start to find my repairs on the Tour and my balance as well. It is not an easy task but It is amazing to improve every day and at every tournament. I have some great people around me to help me understand better what I need and what is not necessary to worry about.

I will be leaving next sunday for London where I have a tournament of the LET Access (Challenge tour). I have a good challenge there since If I finish in the top 10 at the end of the year I will be able to keep my full card on the main tour next year...

This week I will be practicing at the coast and Rigenée. Need to congrats Margaux Vanmol for her amazing victory at the British Girl this past week end. I am really happy for her and hope she is going to get her spot in the Junior Solheim Cup Team like I did in 2005...

Between tournaments...

I spent a few days in Switzerland around the Leman Lake where I played a couple of Pro Ams. I met some nice people over there with whom I talked a lot; this was very positive since a few were ready to fund partially the rest of my season. That would be great and alleviate a lot of stress.

The good news is that my clubs are finally fitted with the right shafts. The shaft of the driver is still pending. Have to try some.

Destination of this week is Helsinki, Finland for the Finnair Masters. The next step will be England where I try to qualify for the British Open.

Allianz Ladies Slovak Open

Wednesday, May 25th

The course is really nice, very hilly and uneven but in very good conditions. You must be fit to play here but the scenery is so nice that it is worth it. Speaking of health, I am getting better, slowly but surely. I hope to have a restful night, I am in the last flight at 13:20.

Tuesday, May 24th

I'm little sick. I went to the tournament doctor and received some medication. I am at the Gray Bear Golf Course in Tále, Slovakia for the Allianz Slovakia Open that starts on Thursday. Received some homework from my coaching team, so I'll have a busy tournament...

UniCredit German Ladies Open

Thursday May 19th

I started at the 10th and was going ok, but instead of holing one or two birdies more, I made two bogeys and finished +1. So, I'l need to increase the number of shots closer to the pin and avoid any wrong club selection. This is my homework for tomorrow...

Ladies Open of Portugal, Campo Real Golf, Turcifal

Friday, 12 May 2011 22:15

One lost ball when I really did not need it. I have some new tasks defined for tomorrow. We will see...

Wednesday, 11 May 2011 21:33

So today Surpriseeeeee my uncle was the captain on my flight to Lisbon and I had the honor to be in the cabin for the landing!!!

Arrived in Portugal!  Happy to be on tour again but still upset because I didn't receive my clubs and have to play other ones (thanks Giulio Tadiotto). The Pro life is a long road, where the first steps are absolutely not the extension of the amateur life. My entourage have told me that but I decided to do it my way (the way I advance in my University years). I need to adapt my recipe, like I had to adapt my golfclubs... But everything can't be done in a few days, so patience is another word I need to make a friend of!

Turkish Airlines Turkish Ladies Open, Antalya

Friday, 6 May 2011 20:33

Ok..well Turkey wasnt the best for me..but I learned again a lot and I m ready for next week in Portugal! Thank you sooooo so much for all your messages!

Wednesday, 4 May 2011 17:37

Tomorrow Tee times at 12:40... Very good conditions... Let's see how it will work! Pretty confident about my game... I had a good practice session this morning to fix my driving and played 9 holes this afternoon. I am excited about this week! Love my job and my life!!!

Things are hotting up

Belgium, Friday 29 April 2011 14:08

The season really starts now with the full May stretch. The first tournament takes place in Turkey, followed by Portugal, Germany and Slovakia.
I am very disappointed because I did not receive my new clubs I need so badly. They are stuck somewhere in UK where life seems to be suspended due to Royal Wedding. I am quite anxious because I will have to compromise with my current set of clubs that does not fit my swing. But I have to find much positive points to focus on because fostering negative thinking is the best way to destroy any chance of success.

Back from La Nivelle

Thursday, 21 April 2011

Too many bogeys, too many greens missed with good swings. It was clear that my shafts were whippy for me, surely the torque. So the score doesn't mean that I swong badly, I'm not worried at all because i drove the ball very well and my length of the tee is coming back. When I came back in Belgium Vincent took me to Daniel Rombaut, the golf fitter from Golfan (Mons). Dan tested my swing and it revealed that the shafts closed my clubface more than 7 °. By trying, we found 1 or 2 good choices that I have now to confirm on the course. I can not wait for a new serie to continue my preparation...

Last Monday I played with Lara Tadiotto the PGA 4ball at Royal Waterloo, we finished 3rd with the score of 70!

La Nivelle Ladies Open

La Nivelle, Thursday, 14 April 2011 18:23

74 after an opening 71, +5, good enough to make the cut. But I am not happy with my scoring. Too nervous this morning. A painful triple bogey on the 2nd and par in total for the par 5's. Not a good card!

La Nivelle, Wednesday, 13 April 2011 15:11

Bogeys and birdies today. +1... Better driving than in Agadir last week. Tomorrow I will try to go for more birdies on par 5's on the front nine. The course is extremely narrow, between the trees, very hilly, so the second shot is often on unusual lies. Nevertheless I know I can score bettre than +1. Tomorrow will tell.

La Nivelle, Wednesday, 13 April 2011 06:30

My tee-off is at 9.21 for my second Generali Ladies Tour Event this year. This time I am in the Pays Basque (France) and the course is La Nivelle near St Jean de Luz. Last week I practiced my game with Mich Vanmeeerbeek and I'm ready for this tournament on a very technical La Nivelle course. The best french proettes are here and also the second and the 7th of last week's tournament, the Lalla Meryem Trophy in Agadir. And you can add also the best french amateurs playing on home soil. My training was great and I am happy now with the way I hit my driver. I went to the Illbaritz training center where I met a good friend of Jérôme and Nicolas, Jérôme Bravard. Illbaritz... always a great place to hit all kind of shots...

Two other Belgian Proettes are here also, Lara and Lien.

Lalla Meryem Cup

Agadir, Sunday, 3 April 2011 19:12

My first tournament is over. The pro life is a long process made of progress and this was the first stage... Time to work now! But overall, it was a nice experience, I had a great second day and a difficult 3rd one. I did not drive the ball like I needed to, and this is my priority before the next tournament in La Nivelle (Pays Basque - France).

Agadir, Saturday, 2 April 2011 22:05

A very bad driving day, with too many bogeys... Grrrrrr, I'm disappointed... The 3 wood was not better... I went all over the place! Hopefully, next week, a good debriefing with Mich and Vincent

Finally the season starts...

Sunday, 27 March 2011 16:30

Since I qualified this past december in Spain at the Q-school, I can play all the events on the Ladies European Tour.

I have been practicing seriously for the past three months with my coach Michel Vanmeerbeeck and I am ready to starts my new life as a professional golfer and live some wonderful experiences...

After a 9th place at my first event on the Generali Ladies Tour at Terre Blanche, I am now in Morrocco for my first official tournament on the European Tour.

I will play at the Golf du Soleil. This course is not unknow for me since I already practiced this winter on it.

I am really confident and I am really thankful for the wonderful support of all my partners for this season.

I will not be alone in Morocco since many Belgians will be there to cheer for me and also Nicolas Colsaerts since the Trophy Hassan II will be playing in the same city this week.
